What Is It?

The Do Not Track feature was made for the purpose of informing websites that you don't want your browser visits from each visit to be associated with another visit. When you use this feature, your browser will send a special 'header' request to web servers.

How Do You Use It?

In your web browser, there is a setting to turn this feature on and off.

Desktop Browsers

Chrome:

  1. Go to the application Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data > Send a “Do Not Track” request with your browsing traffic.
  2. Toggle the switch to On to enable.

Edge:

  1. Go to the application Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Privacy > Send “Do Not Track” requests
  2. Toggle the switch to On to enable.

Firefox:

  1. Go to the application Settings > Privacy & Security > Send websites a “Do Not Track” signal that you don’t want to be tracked.
  2. Toggle the switch to Always to enable for all sites.

Safari:

  1. Go to menu > Preferences > Privacy > Website tracking: > Ask websites not to track me
  2. Check the checkbox to enable.

Mobile Browsers

iOS Safari:

  1. Go to your iPhone or iPad Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security > Do Not Track
  2. Toggle the switch to On to enable.

Android Chrome:

  1. Go to Menu (three dots) > Settings > Privacy and security > ‘Do Not Track’
  2. Toggle the switch to On to enable.
